Training Philosophy

I love training and seeing results. I love the fact that I can take control of how my body looks by what I choose to eat and how I choose to train. I've always wondered how people can take better care of their possessions than their bodies. I enjoy training!! It's a lifestyle and a wonderful hobby for me. As for the nutrition end of things I stick to it because I know I'm healthier and love the way it makes me look. I feel that if you give yourself proper nutrition, your body will express the results!! Eating healthy isn't always fun. I admit that. We all go to cookouts and weddings ect. and are tempted by goodies. I believe that having a treat in moderation once a week won't hurt my progress. It also keeps me comfortable with eating healthy the other 90% of the time. If I'm not working out I'm either spending time with my family or shopping for healthy foods. I tend to be in the grocery store often since I like everything fresh! I enjoy helping others meet their goals and to make healthy lifestyle changes. Teaching people not to just diet down / train for an event (wedding, reunion ect.) but to make it a way of life. Healthy eating habits along with strength training and cardio will do a body good!!


Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education


I grew up in Higganum, Connecticut with a small yard and a lake within walking distance. I played outdoors all year round and had the privilege to swim in the summer. I spent a lot of time climbing trees and playing tag. I was such an active child that my mother would have to call me in to eat and then I’d be right back out the door. At night I ran around with my neighbors catching fireflies and enjoying the outdoors. In elementary school I played soccer. I also joined girl scouts which I loved since we went camping a lot. Swimming was one of my favorite activities and I joined the swim team when I was about nine years old. I was very lucky that I grew up on a lake and also that the local high school had a swimming pool. In middle school I tried cheerleading, field hockey and volleyball. My favorite sport ended up being volleyball so I joined the team. I was also introduced to weight training in eighth grade. I eventually decided to get a gym membership when I was fourteen. I fell in love with weight training and the aerobic classes. I knew someday I would want to be in the fitness field.
