Personal Trainer Overview

You don't need a gym full of equipment to achieve fitness goals. I believe in efficient total body workouts with minimal equipment. Getting to know my client is important. I need to learn about lifestyle, possible limitations, diet and exactly what they hope to achieve. I will perform a fitness assessment to establish a baseline and realistic goals. All programming is exclusive to each individual but generally includes total body resistance training sandwiched between a short warm up and cool down with stretching. I include regular, "Challenge workouts", to measure progress and recommend various cardiovascular activities outside of supervised training sessions. $55 for 55 minute, $30 for 30 minute, group rates negotiable.

Training Philosophy

"Variety is the spice of life", applies to successful fitness goals. Even though exercise is hard work it can and should be interesting and fun. Focus is on your wants and needs. I will help you correct muscular imbalances, improve strength and flexibility, increase stamina and build confidence.

Bachelors degree in Physical Education. Major: Exercise Science, Minor: Health

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University in Exercise Science with a minor in Health. Although I didn’t pursue fitness immediately out of college, I always made it part of my personal routine and later decided to get certified as a personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. After becoming certified I began personal training at a full service fitness club outside Chicago. I also taught spinning classes and later became the Manager of Exercise Physiology. After about 3 years in the fitness club environment I came across the opportunity to marry my fitness background with sales and took the position as General Manager for a retail fitness equipment store. A position I held for 13 years. I enjoy meeting and training with all types of people, learning about their wants and needs and helping them accomplish their fitness goals. I also believe that the secret to success in life is a balance between hard work and play. With that said… Let’s work out and have fun! Mark Renfer NASM CPT
