Personal Trainer Overview
I have been teaching fitness, spin & training clients for over 10 years but I come from a dance background so I use techniques from all areas of my education to really build a specialized program for each client. Also, I belong to Scrip programs that give back to non-profit organizations. I'm a trainer with a goal to provide positive change for myself, my clients & my community.
My philosophy is that every client is an individual and each person needs the right program to fit their lifestyle and goals. People go to trainers for many different reasons and there are many weight lifting, weight training, cardio & diet philosophies that work. My goal is to find which one fits the clients needs and budget and then to build a program aimed at reaching the clients goals. I really believe whole heartedly though, that each workout I design needs to be balanced, so even if your goal is to run a marathon, besides cardio endurance & running workouts, I would always incorporate some style of weight training & flexibility work. I also thoroughly believe that we all need to work with weights to make healthier bones & muscles as well as improve our metabolism. How we work with them will be designed on an individual basis.

Laura Fortino is a Certified Personal Trainer, Pilates Specialist, and Group Fitness Instructor. Laura graduated from Cal State University Long Beach with a B.A. While attending CSU Long Beach, she taught ballet, tap, and jazz dance classes. A car accident injury in Laura's neck and shoulder brought her into the gym where she eventually began to teach fitness and then weight lifting. In 2000, Laura Fortino became certified in Pilates and started working for herself in clients' homes as well as in private gyms.
