Personal Trainer Overview

Based on each of my clients goals and current level of fitness, I develop a program to help them with either weight loss, hypertrophy (building muscle), or gaining strength. I include monthly measurements/body fat testing to aid in tracking progress as well as motivating my clients. I also do a quarterly fitness assessment with each of my clients to ensure that each of them is progressing in each of the areas needed to maintain a high quality of life and good overall health. These include endurance, strength and flexibility. I am uniquely positioned over other personal trainers because, on a very personal level, I understand the challenges that are faced when trying to lose weight. True, there are a lot of struggles that come with losing weight. From self-esteem and motivation level to exercise and eating habits, I can help you overcome those challenges to achieve the transformation you want.

Training Philosophy

Through my own experience, I have found that without knowledge people cannot change, they simply don't know how. Education is absolutely crucial to success. My desire is to give each of my clients the knowledge that they need to, not only do it on their own eventually, but also to better their health and quality of life for the rest of their lives. Because honestly, if you don't have your health and quality of life...what DO you have? Along with that knowledge, the right amount of work and rest, understanding of and dedication to proper nutrition, motivation and perseverance anyone can overcome their current health risks, achieve their fitness goals, transform their body and ultimately, their life. I did, and you can too!

Bio

In November of 2006, I myself weighed almost 350 pounds. Through life's experiences, I gained a burning desire to change the direction I was headed in at the time and to become fit and healthy. I began my journey to better health by adding 20 minutes of cardio 6 days a week and cutting out everything that was processed from my diet. It worked at first. Eventually though, the cardio wasn't enough for me to keep losing weight and I began adding weights to my routine. Wanting to make sure I was doing it correctly, I hired a trainer to teach me form and aid me with nutrition advice. Through learning proper form and more about nutrition, I became curious as to how and why the human body does what it does. I would ask my trainer questions, but quite often she didn't have the answer. I began researching on the internet to learn more. I found that the more I learned, the more interested I became and the more questions I had. I knew at this point that I wanted to become a personal trainer and help people who were in a place I had once been, get to where I now was. So, I enrolled in school to take the classes that would get me closer to my end goal of becoming a trainer. I participated in the program, paying close attention to each lecture, taking notes as quickly as my hand would write and then studying and researching each topic on my own time. Upon completion of the program, I graduated with highest honors at the top of my class and later sat and passed my certification test (which only has a 40% pass rate due to it's level of difficulty). To date, I have lost 190 pounds all through exercise and proper nutrition. No pills, surgeries, or magic potions of any kind. Just hard work in the gym and eating the right foods in the right combinations and ratios, period. I am passionate about what I do and absolutely love my "job". I love the people who invite me into their lives to help them better themselves, each of them, in just a few sessions, become friends. I am the owner of Transformation Training which I independently operate out of the South Jordan Fitness & Aquatic Center in South Jordan Utah. In addition, I have a website in which I update three times a week with new articles on different health/fitness topics, recipes, exercise how to's and motivational quotes. Feel free to check it out at http://www.transformationtrainer.com! When I'm not at the gym working out, teaching a class or training clients, I am at home with my five wonderful children. I love being a mom and am grateful for the opportunity that I have to raise happy, healthy children. To teach them how to continue to be happy and healthy as they grow up and eventually spread their wings and fly. In the rare event that I do have a few minutes of free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, hiking, bike riding, entertaining, motorcycle rides and of course...taking an occasional nap!
